Who I Am

Hi! My name is Lindsey, and I’m a KPA certified professional dog trainer in Costa Mesa.

Growing up, I was the kid who made friends with all the dogs in the neighborhood. In high school, my love for animals (and dogs in particular) led me to my first job at a pet store. While I worked there, I discovered a passion for working with animals.

I still have that passion.

When I was 12, I trained my first dog. Not just “sit” and “stay,” but in advanced commands and behaviors. As an adult, I moved from retail pet store work to professional pet sitting and dog walking.

In 2013, I took things to the next level by pursuing my professional certification from Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training & Behavior. The Dog Trainer Professional program involved a 6 month intensive training regimen, including hands-on workshops. This training was one of the most rewarding and challenging things I have ever taken on. I would repeat it in an instant.

I believe in working with dogs to help them to become good citizens. A safe environment with positive reinforcements will strengthen your relationship with your pet while teaching them how to behave.

I don’t just work with animals. I sometimes refer to my home as a “zoo,” with a cat who acts like a dog, a conure, two rabbits, a chinchilla, and a fish tank. I practice what I teach my clients with my own pets, and ensure everyone is well-behaved and taught in a safe, positive environment. After all, my pets are part of my family.

I look forward to meeting with you and working together to teach your dog to be a good canine citizen.
